Bahama Breeze is the Summer Destination for Good Times

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bahama Breeze for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When you think of a nice vacation, do you think of the warm sun, good food and a cocktail in your hand? Well, I do. If you're not familiar with Bahama Breeze, it is a restaurant that brings the Caribbean to you. You get the "food, drink and atmosphere you would in the islands." Oh, and for much cheaper than flying all the way to the Caribbean and spending a lot of money on bathing suits, new clothes, and a resort. Don't you buy all new bathing suits and sandals for your tropical vacations, or is this just me who does this?
 photo ScreenShot2014-06-18at15248PM_zpsc7418dcb.png
From June 23rd to August 3rd 2014, Bahama Breeze is running an event called the Bahama Breeze Summer Beach Bash featuring live music (it is so nice to hear the music of the islands while sipping a cocktail!), and a new specialty cocktail, the Ultimate Pineapple.

The Bahama Breeze Ultimate Pineapple is a frozen drink served in a pineapple. This reminds me of a trip in the Dominican drinking cocktails out of pineapples and coconuts. YUM! Check out this link or watch the video below to see how the bartenders make the Ultimate Pineapple. Warning: You will probably crave one after watching! The Summer Beach Bash is a great place to celebrate a staycation (like I'm doing this year), a birthday, a get together with the girls, or a date night out! Bahama Breeze is the summer destination for good times.

Have you even been to a mojito bar? Yea, me neither, but Bahama Breeze hosts one on Saturdays during the Summer Beach Bash! You get to choose your fruit and rum, and then the bartenders make it for you. If you decide to go, have a mojito for me please. Well, with a responsible driver of course. We want to be safe this summer, too!

If you love to take selfies, check out the nearest Bahama Breeze location and take a selfie while there! Just by using #MyBBSelfie on your picture on Instagram you could win gift cards and #swag. I couldnt resist the hashtag on swag. It reminds me of #swagger. Just make sure to stop by Bahama Breeze by August 3rd as you won't want to miss all the fun!

Giveaway: Lavender- An Everyday Essential Oil

Over the past couple months, Young Living's Essential Oils have become a huge part of my life. From helping me deal with my pain from my recent knee surgery (not just your average knee surgery, we're talking reconstruction of part of my knee), to making facial serum, hand sanitizer spray, diffusing the oils, and applying to bug bites, these oils have done so much for me!

Getting started with Young Living oils is easy to do. I personally recommend starting out with the Premium Starter Kit. You get a diffuser (omg, I'm obsessed with diffusing everyday!) and the following oils: lavender, lemon, peppermint, frankincense, peace and calming, joy, thieves, valor, purification, panaway and stress away. I don't know how I lived without these before I purchased my kit. I use a least 3-4 (and often more) each day. By purchasing the Premium Starter Kit, you also receive 10 sample packets of oils (to share with friends and family) and 2 2-oz samples of Ningxia Red. If you'd like some more information about Young Living Essential Oils, please check out my Facebook group!

Premium Starter Kit

Lavender is quite a popular essential oil. It has so many uses and is a well-known scent to most people. Here are just a few ways one might use lavender:
  • Relaxation: Diffuse a few drops before bedtime or mix a few drops with some epsom salts and take a bath
  • Headaches: Diffuse a few drops or apply to your wrists and/or temples
  • Bug Repellent: Mix with purification and keep those bugs away
  • Sunburns: Try applying a couple drops directly to the sunburn, or mix with Aloe Vera and apply rub gently on the sunburn
These are just a few ways to use Lavender, and there are many more! How do you like to use lavender, or if you won, how would you use it?

Giveaway! Enter below to win a 5ml bottle of Young Living's Lavender Essential Oil.

Giveaway is open from 4:30 PM Pacific time on July 11, 2014 to July 25, 2014 at 5:00pm Pacific time. Winner will be notified by email

Va-Va Voom Lashes: REVIEW Urban Decay Perversion

I can't deny my love affair with makeup. I've loved it for years, and I'm pretty sure it's hereditary, as my mom has a larger makeup collection than I do. In the past, I'd use the same 'ol products over and over and never deviate, because why do that when you have found what works? Well, I'll tell you why.... because just when you've found something that works amazingly well for you, the beauty industry comes out with some new technology and it's a game changer.

I just love mascara. If there is one thing I won't leave the house without, it's mascara. I don't care if I'm going to the grocery store in yoga pants, flip flops, and my hair in a bun; I will be wearing mascara. My eyelashes are fairly light, especially at the tips, so I personally feel that I need to wear mascara. I just love how it makes my eyes look and it gives my face that fresh, "she actually slept" look.

I usually use Benefit They're Real Mascara. I like it especially for my top lashes as it provides a lot of length and volume. I struggle though with my bottom lashes. These get a lot more clumpy and honestly, sometimes I just don't have time to sit and fix everything for another five minutes. You know the drill with mascara- once you touch something, you're going to mess up something else, so then you have to fix that too. Reminds me of the book, If you Give a Mouse a Cookie. The rubber wand is nice because the mascara doesn't dry up on it. It's supposed to give you a clump-free application, and I find this to be mostly true, but I think there is better out there.

The Urban Decay mascara is brand new, and you can get it on July 13th, 2014. Urban Decay mentions the new ingredients:

  • marine glycogen, to stimulate lash growth
  • honey extract for nourishment
  • sea idrolized elastine to stimulate the hair follicle
  • marine collagen to protect

I'm all about the crunchy lifestyle, and removing chemicals from our lives, but to be honest, I can't give up my mascara. There is no way. Until a company makes mascara that actually looks good, I will not switch. Just looking at the pictures, my top lashes look pretty similar. The bottom lashes really show the difference between the two mascaras.

L eye: Benefit They're Real
R eye: Urban Decay Perversion

These pictures are pretty similar, but they show the slight difference between the two products. The difference is enough to convince me that I need to keep a tube of Urban Decay's Perversion in my makeup bag. I like the natural look of my bottom lashes with the Perversion and the brush is very easy to use, although it isn't a rubber brush. I'm also hoping the additional products Urban Decay added to it will help in the long term with my lashes. Perversion looks like when it's available, that it'll be $22. I'd say it's worth every cent!

Do you have a favorite mascara that is a "must try?" Leave a comment below and share what your go-to mascara is!

I received this sample of Urban Decay Perversion lashes for free. The opinions above are representative of my experience with this product.

On occasion, I will post affiliate links from retailers. The price doesn't change for you, but I may receive a small portion of the sale to support my blogging activities.

Ahhhhhmazing Pain Salve

I've always been "into" alternative medicine. Back in college I started seeing a naturopath and even took a class that taught us all about Traditional Chinese Medicine and other types of alternative medicine including Reiki, Aromatherapy and Ayurveda.

A few weeks ago I decided to jump face first into Young Living essential oils. During my research, I came across many recipes for helping with pain. I "met" a new friend who encouraged me to jump right in with Young Living, shared her experiences, gave me some links to some other great bloggers, and helped me decide which oils to purchase first. I purchased a Premium Starter Kit (more on that later!) and added a couple other oils that are helpful with pain, like Idaho Balsam Fir and Copaiba.

I've been trying different ways of applying essential oils, and decided it was time to make my own Pain Salve. I waited a few days to post this recipe, as I tested it out on my little brother, a friend and myself. I had to make sure it worked in order to share it with you! This has worked for my brothers ankle pain and wrist pain, my knee pain and muscle pain in my upper back, and my friends pain on his feet and lower back.

Please make sure to use 100% pure Essential Oils. Be careful as some oils sold in health food stores can be adulterated with items that are not listed on the labels. I purchase mine from Young Living. You can sign up here to purchase as a distributor (save 24% on purchases and NO fee to join).

Ahhhhhmazing Pain Salve
1 cup of Organic Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil
10 drops PanAway Essential Oil
10 drops Valor Essential Oil
7 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
3 drops Balsam fir Essential Oil
5 drops Copaiba Essential Oil

Put coconut oil in container. Drop in Essential Oils. Mix well, and then apply to area as needed.

I'm baaaaaaaaack!

Dear Friends of Becca's Perspective,

After a long time away, I have realized I would like to pick back up where I left off and start blogging again.

I started this blog back in 2010. I had finished college quickly, went to grad school, thought I found the love of my life (spoiler alert!! He wasn't!), and was recovering from one heck of a car accident. This blog was one of my ways of healing. It saw me through some very dark nights, worries and issues that I had to keep so secret.

The last 2 years have been the best ones yet. I have a career (different from the one I was working in when this started), reconnected with old friends, made a ton of new ones, and have found success, happiness and peace.

It wasn't long ago that I felt this all came crashing down. Long story short, I was working, fell, and then had to wait a few months in order to have the surgery I needed. The good news is: I'm doing well. What I've learned in this time is how important it is to have those around you that care about you. They give me the strength to work through issues and continue on and find happiness. Isn't happiness what we all strive for?

The definition of happiness has changed for me over the years. As I mature and experience more of life, happiness is even more important to me. It is not being right, but being loved. It is the feeling of wanting more but being content at the same time. It is many other things, and I hope you share below what you're vision of happiness is.

I'm still into alternative medicine, nutrition and beauty. I'm also into learning about myself and others, country music, going and doing fun things, and most importantly, the fact that I don't know everything and want to continue to learn.

You'll see some changes around here in coming weeks. I'm not sure what all of those are yet, but I hope you'll enjoy.

I guess it's time for me to start tweeting (follow @bexperspective) and find me on Facebook at the little icon somewhere around the page! It's a lot different to be blogging from my iPad, but I suppose I'm going to have to bust out the laptop and remember that HTML coding I once knew so well!

Cheers!

Apartments.com

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of apartments.com for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Looking for a new place to call home? Check out apartments.com to find your perfect fit.

It's an easy to use site, where you can input the zip code you'd like to live and the number of bed/baths and even the max rent amount you'd like to pay. I've been searching for a slightly larger apartment in the same area I currently live in, so I'm fairly familiar with the other apartments nearby. However, I'd like to see what they are charging and what the floorplans look like. I was able to see this easily, and some listings even had a digital walkthrough! There are lots of pictures provided for each complex which is very helpful especially if you don't know the area. I found the results to be very comprehensive. I do like the map available in the top right corner of search results.

Apartments.com has a mobile app- available for both android, iphone and ipad. If you're browsing on a mobile device, you can also just use the mobile website. I thought it was pretty neat to use this app because you can pick up the GPS location of where you are. This would have been helpful when looking for my current place. You may know the feeling of driving around looking for apartments and trying to find other ones in the area. This app would help to solve that need!

From my own experience, I recommend checking out apartments.com for your next apartment search. Happy searching!

Cosmetic Treatments- MySurgeryMD.com

I'm all about having Cosmetic Surgery procedures if its for the right reason; that means I believe it's great if it's for medical reasons, or to make you feel better about yourself. I don't believe in cosmetic surgery to appease someone else.  My Surgery MD gives some great information about cosmetic treatments broken down based on which procedure you are interested in.

When checking out a procedure, you can look at mysurgerymd.com for information on cost, risks and complications, the description of the procedure, and other types of procedures to help you make the best informed decision.

I personally learned a lot and recommend you visit the mysergerymd.com site and check it out for yourself! I found this site very comprehensive, in that it covered most of the major procedures, some not-so-common procedures, and offered non-surgical enhancement treatment information as well.

Which procedure is on your wish list? Botox, anyone?

Chili's and the NEW #CoronaRita

Chili's and the NEW #CoronaRita
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Chili’s Grill & Bar. All opinions are 100% mine.
Any of you struggle with choosing a restaurant when getting together with friends or family? I used to, but not anymore! Chili’s is right down the street from where I live, which is so convenient!
Are you looking for a place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? I have been. It needs to be a place that serves chips and salsa, have some yummy food, and serve lots of different types of drinks! Chili’s actually has a new CoronaRita at Chili's available, which is a Margarita served with a Corona beer in it.  Please keep in mind, “You must be 21 years or older to drink alcoholic beverages and as always, please remember to drink responsibly.”
[tag_9321_placeholder]
My personal choice for Cinco de Mayo would be to drink a #CoronaRita with a 6 oz classic sirloin off the Lighter Choices portion of the menu. Now, if I wasn’t worrying about what I was eating, I’d go for the crispy shrimp tacos.  On a night separate from Cinco de Mayo, may I suggest the chocolate chip paradise pie, with a bar of chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut, topped with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel. Mmmmm this is making me hungry just thinking about all this food!
If you’re looking for a place for date night, Chili’s offers an awesome $20 dinner for two. You get to choose one appetizer to share, and then select two full-size entrees. Then just pay for your beverages! You can even choose the  6oz classic sirloin from this deal, or if you’re feeling like some comfort food, order the half-rack baby back rips with homestyle fries.
For those that have kiddos joining them, Chili’s has a great kids menu, including a chicken sandwich and a quesadilla.
[tag_9339_placeholder]
I hope you get a chance to stop by Chili’s and try out their yummy food, and their new CoronaRita margarita.  In the meantime, leave a comment below sharing your favorite Chili’s item and your thoughts about trying the new CoronaRita.

Whitney Farms: Helping your Organic Garden

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Whitney Farms for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Whitney-Farms-Logo_Banner_New_C.jpg (6 documents, 6 total pages)

As you probably know about me already, I'm a big proponent of eating fresh and healthy foods, and I especially love vegetables. Growing an organic garden is not only good for your health, but great on the wallet as well. I love having a garden in my backyard, especially because I know that I didn't use chemicals on it. I feel that if I'm going to spend the time growing a garden in my backyard, I better make it organic, otherwise I could just get the same produce at the market. Whitney Farms® lets me feel good about what I'm growing in the backyard as healthy and natural, and most importantly, chemical-free.

Whitney Farms® has a product line that includes natural plant foods and organic soil, and includes nothing artifical and no additives. Plus, it's easy to use and apply to your garden.

Below is a picture that is similar to what my garden looks like. I like having the garden raised, as it helps to keep unwanted critters out, including my dogs who love to mark their territory around the yard.

Whitney Farms® products benefit your garden because they include beneficial mocribes good for the soil and the plants themselves. Even the specially-designed plends provide your plants with both micro and macro nutrients which are needed to survive.

Click here if you'd like a $3.00 off coupon to try this organic plant food Advertisement

109103_1.jpg (6 documents, 6 total pages)

Each year I like to add something new to the garden. Last year it was blackberries, which didn't do too well. I'm using Whitney Farms® on my Tomatoes and lettuce this year and looking forward to enjoying (I haven't exactly planted much yet).

What are you going to be planting in your garden this year? Do you like to keep an organic garden, or do you use chemical based fertilizers?
